- Our album banned by the CD factory!!
- Originally planned for a November 2002 release through
italian AvantGarde Music, the new album of Spaniards AVULSED
"Yearning for The Grotesque" was pushed
back for a January 2003 release, but problems didn't end
up there!! Just few days before the album's release, the
CD factory announced their refusal to press the CD wich
such artwork.
This is the official statement from the CD factory (Sony
DADC Austria): "After our graphic department has seen
the graphic for your new production we felt costrained to
show it to our quality control. Unfortunately because of
the images we have to refuse the production for this product.
We cannot produce graphic parts like your product AV069.
The only solution we can offer you is to produce only the
CD's or the client changes COMPLETELY the design of the
graphics".
At this moment, there's not a tentative release date for
AVULSED's new album, since a decision has to be taken
in order to release this work as soon as possible. In the
meantime, you can check out the band's complete design of
the album on their official website and judge yourself if
it's so offensive. You can also check an advance on mp3
on www.avulsed.com.

2002 a través del sello italiano Avantgarde Music,
el nuevo álbum de los españoles AVULSED
"Yearning For The Grotesque" se retrasó
para Enero del 2003, pero los problemas no acabaron ahí!!
Tan sólo unos días antes de su edición,
la fábrica de CD's anunció su negativa a fabricar
el CD con tal diseño.
Esta es la declaración oficial de la fábrica
de CD's (Sony DADC Austria): "Después de que
nuestro departamento de diseño gráfico ha
visto el arte de su nueva producción, nos hemos visto
obligados a mostrarlo a nuestro control de calidad. Lamentablemente,
debido a las imágenes tenemos que rechazar la fabricación
de éste producto. No podemos producir el arte gráfico
de su producto AV069. La única solución que
podemos ofrecerles es fabricar sólamente los CD's
a menos que el cliente cambie COMPLETAMENTE el diseño
de los gráficos".
Por el momento no hay fecha para la edición del nuevo
álbum de AVULSED, ya que aún se tiene
que tomar una decisión para editar éste trabajo
lo antes posible. Mientras tanto, puedes ver el completo
diseño del álbum en su página oficial
y juzgar por tí mismo si es tan ofensivo. También

- Dave Rotten broke one of his ribs at the show in Madrid.
- AVULSED's vocalist Dave Rotten was diagnosed a small fracture
on a rib after the successful presentation of their brand
new album "Yearning For The Grotesque" in their
hometown, Madrid, last March 15th.
As Dave Rotten stated: "During the show, and after
one of my usual and multiple stage divings I noticed a terrible
pain on my chest. However, the heat over the stage and adrenaline
did a good job, because I could finish the show (we played
like 105 minutes!!) without real problems. Days passed and
I still had that pain on my chest, but I though that was
the typical one after a beat, you know... so after a week
I decided to visit the medics and they practised me an x-ray,
so we saw one of the ribs was slightly broken. No big deal,
it's just that I can't sing for at least a month. The good
thing is that casually, this show was the last one after
a series of 10 shows we did through Spain and we didn't
have any more booked until May, because we were supposed
to do an European tour in April (with CANNIBAL CORPSE, but
it didn't happen in the end), so it's a perfect time for
me to recover".
In other news, AVULSED will take part in the very biggest
Rock Festival in Spain next May 3rd. The Viña Rock
2003 is expected to surpass 55.000 people, after seeing
the last years' success (45.000 maniacs). This festival,
with 5 stages and all kinds of Rock music, gathers the best
and more renowned Rock & Metal acts mainly from Spain,
and it's the very first time a Death Metal band plays there!!
- Al vocalista de AVULSED, Dave Rotten, se le ha diagnosticado
una pequeña fractura tras el exitoso concierto de
presentación de su reciente álbum "Yearning
For The Grotesque" que la banda ofreció en su
propia ciudad, Madrid, el pasado 15 de Marzo.
Según comentó Dave Rotten: "Durante el
concierto, y tras una de mis típicas y multiples
saltos desde el escenario sobre le público, sentí
un fuerte dolor en el pecho. De todas formas, la adremalina
y el calor que hacía sobre le escenario hicieron
un gran trabajo, ya que pude acabar el concierto (tocamos
como 105 minutos!!) sin mayores problemas. Los días
pasaron y todavía tenía ése dolor en
el pecho, pero pensé que sería lo típco
tras un golpe, ya sabes... así que tras una semana,
decidí acudir al médico quien me hizo una
radiografía, con lo que vimos que una de las costillas
estaba ligeramente rota. No es gran cosa, pero el caso es
que no podré cantar durante al menos un mes. Lo bueno
es que, precisamente éste concierto fue el último
de una serie de 10 conciertos que hemos dado por España
y no tenemos ninguno más previsto hasta Mayo, porque
teníamos previsto hacer una gira por Europa en Abril
(con CANNIBAL CORPSE, pero al final no se concretó),
así que es una época perfecta para mi recuperación".
En otras noticias, AVULSED participará en al más
grande festival de Rock en España el próximo
3 de Mayo. El Viña Rock 2003 se espera que sobrepase
los 55.000 asistentes, tras ver el éxito del pasado
año (45.000 personas). Este festival, con 5 escenarios,
y todo tipo de música Rock, reúne las mejores
y más renombradas bandas de Rock y Metal del país
principalmente (también hay algunas extranjeras),
y es la primera vez que una banda de Death Metal participa
en el!!

- AVULSED breaks his contract with AvantGarde Music.
- Yes, only 7 months after the release of our third album
"Yearning For The Grotesque", we have decided
not to continue our relationship with Avantgarde Music even
when we had a two album-deal signed with them. This was
something we already agreeded just few weeks after the albums
release, but we didn't want to make it official until now.
However, a mutual and friendly agreement has been reached
and the band is now free and looking for a new deal. We're
actually negotiating with two labels for a possible deal
towards the release of the band's 4th album due to be recorded
in Summer 2004. Anyway, other offers might be considered
as well.
 The
main reasons for the band's departure from the label were
the lack of support both in promotion and touring facilities,
as well as a deficient distirbution policy that didn't reach
the band's minimal expectations. Even though the album has
sold pretty well, we consider our label could have done
better for us, but the fact is that they never put any interest
on it, and this has caused a serious step back in the band's
career, which is a shame, because this album is by far the
best AVULSED effort.
Soon the will be news about the label who will sign AVULSED.
We hope not to commit the same mistake twice...
- Si, tan sólo 7 meses después de la edición
de nuestro tercer álbum "Yearning For The Grotesque",
hemos decidido no continuar nuestra relación con
AvantGarde Music aún cuando teníamos firmado
un contrato de dos álbums con ellos. Esto ha sido
algo que ya acordamos tan sólo unas semanas después
de la edición del álbum, pero no quisimos
hacerlo oficial hasta ahora. De cualquier forma, el acuerdo
ha sido amistoso y la banda se encuentra libre y buscando
un nuevo contrato. Nos encontramos en negociaciones con
dos sellos para un posible contrato de cara a la edición
del 4º álbum de la banda que será grabado
en verano del 2004. De todos modos, otras ofertas podrían
ser consideradas del mismo modo.
Las principales razones para el abandono del sello por parte
de la banda son la falta de apoyo tanto en materias de promoción
y aporo para tours, así como una deficiente política
de distribución que no llegó a las mínimas
expectativas de la banda. Incluso aún cuando el álbum
ha tenido buenas ventas, consideramos que lo podrían
haber hecho mejor por nosotros, pero el hecho es que nunca
han pusieron ningún interés, y ésto
ha causado un serio paso hacia detrás en la trayectoria
de la banda, lo cual es una lástima, ya que éste
álbum es, con diferencia, el mejor de AVULSED.
Pronto habrá noticias sobre el sello por el que AVULSED
firmará. Esperemos no cometer el mismo error dos
veces...
