In only six months after it's formation, the band THE MIST recorded, by the end of 1989, his first album "Phantasmagoria" which brung a new language to the Brazilian underground scene. In '91 with the incorporation of Jairo Guedz (ex- SEPULTURA's guitarist), the band released "The Hangman Tree", a collection of deliriums and moans of a terminal pacient. This album opened the doors to the european market adding everytime more fans to the legion that follows them on their tours.
It was in July/August og 1995 when they recorded "Gottverlassen", their 4th. and most recent album which was released in early '96 only for the Brazilian territory and now worlwide licensed to REPULSE RECORDS which is gonna give them the definitive impulse. "Gottverlassen" brings out more grave sound with more cohesion and is based on the non-sense of the 70's and the aggressivity of the 90's. THE MIST put us face to face with subjects that knocks down ideological taboos and moral values ("Untie Me"), the abandon of the mankind by it's creator ("Jesus Land") and the exploration of holy territories, feeding the greed and power of the big leaders ("Switch Off The Body Suckers"). |
