GOLGOTHA was born as a side project of Vicente, guitarist in one of the very first Spanish Death Metal bands called UNBOUNDED TERROR. After recording their first demo in June '93 with the help of some friends, a deal was signed with REPULSE RECORDS and this recording came out in january '94 as their debut mini CD entitled "Caves Of Mind". After the release of this mini CD, UNBOUNDED TERROR ceased his activities and Vicente continued with GOLGOTHA in a more serious form looking for new members apart of former vocalist Amon to complete a stable line-up. He found them on Iván (guitar) and Rubén (drums). In December '94 they entered the Desgrabaciones Studios again to record two new tracks as kind of advance for their debut album due to be released in summer '95. Shortly after the recording of these tracks, a permanent bass player called Toni and a keyboard player called Jose, became part of the band, being now a six piece act. By mid April, their debut album "Melancholy" was recorded and GOLGOTHA shocked the worldwide Metal scene with this awesome work. In '96, a new keyboard player called Oscar entered the band and the band started a tour all around the Spanish territory (don''t forget they come from Mallorca island!!) playing with bands like BLIND GUARDIAN, DERANGED, AVULSED... In summer '97, a new release in form of a 3-inch mini CD entitled "The Way Of Confussion", came out including their 2 songs promo recorded back in Dec. '94 plus the cover song of BLACK SABBATH already featured on their first MCD (strictly limited to 1.000 copies). This helped the band to keep their name alive while they were writing new songs for their upcoming 2nd album. March '98 was the time to record "Elemental Changes" with a Dutch rip-off producer called Vincent Dijkers (don't forget this name!!) who really fucked up the recordings. Luckily, the whole work could be saved with the help of one of the best producers in Mallorca called Toni Pastor. The album shows a more catchy side of the band with a more keyboard oriented sound and an absolutely incredible vocal work. Undoubtely, GOLGOTHA will definitely reach a top position amongst the finest melodic metal bands in the scene with their truly unique style!! GOLGOTHA are: Toni Soler: Bass
